Objectives of the Course
To teach students the urban planning processes, application tools and methods. To educate conscious individuals aiming to realize practices in the urban planning in order to ensure sustainable development by considering the economic, social and environmental values ​​of the city.

1 To be able to comprehend the urbanization, urbanization processes and concepts.
2 Have a basic knowledge of urban planning process and urban planning.
3 The hierarchy between the plans and the planning system in Turkey will have information on the legal administrative limitations.
4 Understands the necessity of field studies and analyzes that make a foundation for the zoning plan and knows how to use the data presented for planning by synthesizing
5Gains the ability to read, interpret and prepare 1/1000 scale Master Plans and 1/1000 scaled Implementation Development Plans.

Course Contents
To be able to be perceived and read with all dimensions of the city. To gain the culture of planning; the development of the cities, the factors that direct the urban development / actors and the relationship between them, to understand the reasons behind the urban problems. Raising awareness about the roles of urban and professional people in the creation and protection of urban identity. Obtaining key information for reading and evaluation of zoning plans. The legal tools of urban planning and architectural practices. Performing field studies and performing on-site detection and analysis studies, creating sample plan scenarios and making plan decisions. Preparation of 1/5000 Master Plan and 1/1000 Implementation Plan.

5 In the context of planning process and planning tools; the aim, target, swot analysis, analysis of the solution scenarios and plan decisions
6 Determining the legal administrative framework examining the hierarchical status in the planning process between Turkey and plans
7 Economic, social and environmental relations of urban and regional planning in order to ensure continuous and balanced development
8 Analysis of zoning plans, legends and notes, population and structure density concepts and realization of sample precedence / density calculations
9 Examination of sample development plans and preparation of field work
10 Field work, on-site detection and analysis
11 Transfer of field studies to sheets
12 Aim, target, swot analysis, creation of solution scenarios
13 Formation of synthesis sheet, determination of plan decisions
14Establishment of 1/5000 scale master plan.
15 Establishment of 1/1000 scale Implementation Development Plan and revision of the Master Plan
16 Final delivery of 1/5000 scale Master Plan and 1/1000 scale Implementation Plan
