The course aims to provide the students with a general knowledge on Local Governments in Turkey.

1yerel yönetimlerle ilgili temel kavramların neler olduğunu belirtebilme, yerel yönetim birimlerini sayabilecekler.
2yerel yönetim birimler ile merkezi yönetim birimleri arasındaki farkı şekiller ve grafikler yardımıyla özetleyebilecekler.
3temel kavramları, önüne gelen bir davada kullanabilme, bir yerel yönetim birimi başkanı olarak örnek olaylarda merkezi yönetim birimleriyle ilişkilerinin nasıl olacağını gösterebilecekler.
4yerel yönetimlerin karşılaşabileceği muhtemel sorunları, örneğin doğal afetleri, parçalarına ayırabilecekler.

The concepts of centralization and decentralization, local autonomy, the history of Turkish local governments, municipalities, provincial special administrations, village administrations, intergovernmental relationships, urbanization and metropolitan administration, reorganization of local governments, the origins of local governments, economy and local governments, Turkish local government experiences.
