Objectives of the Course
• Comparing digital and analog communication and explaining necessity of digital communication. Providind knowledge about Analog signals and digital signals. Providing information about ADC and DAC. PAM, PWM, PPM, PCM and Delta modulation and demodulation. TDMA, FDMA, CDMA and SDMA Providing information about digital modulation schemes such as ASK, FSK, PSK, QPSK, 8PSK, 16QAM, MSK and GMSK. Error correcting and detecting codes. When and how they are used.

1Analog-digital conversion of a signal knows the steps.
2Signal-to-analog conversion steps in a numerical knows.
3FSK modulation knows and as a result of this modulation should be used to calculate the amount of bandwidth.
4ASK modulation and the NPC knows, and as a result of these modulations can calculate the amount of bandwidth that should be used.

Week 1 Comparing digital and analog data. Continous and discrete time signals and their mathemetical expressions. Week 2 Steps of analog to digital convertation. Week 3 Comparison of theoretical and practical sampling. Week 4 Frequency analysis of discrete signals. Week 5 Introduction digital modulation. ASK and OOK. Week 6 Digital phase modulation BPSK and QPSK. Week 7 Constellation diagram and m-ary phase modulations. Week 8 MID-TERM EXAM Week 9 FSK modulation. Comparison of spectral efficiencies of all of the digital modulation that analyzed so far. Week 10 Analyzing OQPSK, MSK and GMSK. Week 11 Resolving sample questions. Week 12 Introduction to multiple access techniques. TDMA and FDMA. Week 13 CDMA and SDMA, OFDM Week 14 Concepts of Error detection and correction. Week 15 Students presentations about their research projects Week 16 Final Exam
