Navigational aids at sea and coast and their use Recognition of lights, calculation of light characteristics, day and night light visibility distances. The information contained in the books of the light and fog signals, light characteristics, sector lights. Buoyage system and shape, color, pattern,top shapes and light characteristics, LATERAL and CARDINAL SYSTEM buoys, other buoys Radio navigational aids, symbols, maps and books. Showing depths in maps. Depth measurement Soundings. Hand sounding. Electronic soundings (Echo-Sounders). Navigation using the sounder Provision of Dead reckoning navigation. When is it necessary to mark the DR position on the map? Things to watch out during DR navigation. Logs, types and working principles Current and current navigation calculations, current triangle elements (SET, DRIFT, SOA, TRACK, COURSE, SPEED). Current systems on Earth. Tide and Tidal currents, Maximum Current calculation. Usage of current table and current atlases The tide, the reason, Newton's Law, the moon's effect on the moon, Spring and Neap tide.
